When it comes to making fashion statements, Ciara is the lead. The Atlanta native recently stepped out in a vintage Pittsburg Steelers Starter jacket that took us back to the nostalgic 1990s, and now we wish we had kept our coats.
You probably heard of Starter jackets if you were raised in the 1990s. They were popular coats representing NFL and NBA teams by bearing their names and team colors on the fabric. Back then, the price tag on one of these coats was around $150, making them an elite purchase. Not everyone had one, but if you were lucky enough to get your hands on a jacket, you were definitely considered cool. The jackets have been redesigned to keep up with the times, but the new design will never top that 90s style that was equipped with a remarkable amount of swag.
Ciara Embodies Sporty Fashion in a Vintage Starter Jacket
Fast-forward to today, and of course, Ciara has gotten her hands on a vintage Steelers coat that is dripping with style. The mother-of-four styled the special piece with $2,800 Balenciaga boots that added the perfect sporty touch to her fly coat. The “Body Party” singer completed her look with black gloves, sunglasses, and an adorable Women With Ballz Steelers football-shaped purse.
CiCi posted the picture to her Instagram, which was part of a carousel of pictures that included the entertainer flexing in the outfit and interacting with her beautiful kids, who seemed to be enjoying time with their mother. The multihyphenate captioned her photo with, “Grateful .” The post gained almost 300 thousand likes, with followers admiring her outfit and praising her parenting and spousal skills. “The best mom, the best wifey, she’s that girl ,” one follower commented.
We love Ciara’s versatile fashion and can’t wait to see more swaggy looks in the new year!
